Why low-slope roofs fail out here
Flat and low-slope roofs collect what steeper roofs shed. On the open ground between Rathdrum and the Twin Lakes, wind drives snow into drifts that pile against parapets and HVAC curbs, then meltwater pools wherever drainage is even slightly off. Where TPO earns its keep on the Prairie
TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) is a single-ply membrane that is heat-welded at every seam, so the laps become one continuous sheet of waterproofing rather than a glued joint waiting to peel. That welded seam is exactly what a roof carrying weeks of wet snow needs.

We size the membrane and insulation to the building and the climate, not a one-price-fits-all spec:
- 60-mil and 80-mil TPO - thicker membrane for shops and high-traffic commercial roofs that see foot traffic and equipment.
- Tapered polyiso insulation - built-up slope to push water toward drains and end ponding on dead-flat decks.
- Fully adhered systems - for the exposed, high-wind sites out toward Twin Lakes and the open Prairie where uplift is a real concern.
- Reinforced TPO flashing and term bars - heat-welded detailing at every parapet, curb, and pipe.
If a building has a slight pitch, we will also walk you through whether an architectural shingle or standing-seam metal section makes more sense than membrane for that area.
